Dr. Kevin G. McCowan is a general surgeon who is new to Valdosta. Dr. McCowan is a native of Anderson, South Carolina but has deep Georgia roots. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Morehouse College in Atlanta and a Master of Public Health Degree and Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. He also completed his surgical internship and residency at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill. Dr. McCowan in board Certified in Surgery by the American Board Of Surgery.

General Surgery affords Dr. McCowan the opportunity to help patients with a variety of surgical needs. Dr McCowan is on staff at Smith Northview Hospital of Valdosta and Memorial hospital of Adel. In addition to his Valdosta office location, Dr. McCowan also has an office in Adel at 308 N. Parrish Avenue. The Adel telephone number is 229.896.3362.

Dr. McCowan has always enjoyed the medical profession. While attending college and medical school Dr. McCowan worked as a medical technologist and graduate teaching assistance. In his spare time, Dr. McCowan enjoys golf, music and audio / visual electronics. He is delighted to call Valdosta home.
